The Coloured Canyon is not the only one - but the most beautiful canyon of the Sinai. This spectacular, very tight canyon is made of fantastic and colored rock formations. In thousands of years arose stones in different red and yellow colors by the erosion. Because of different positions of the sun, you can see fascinating colors on the canyon. |

We from the DiveIN can organize tours to the Coloured Canyon in small groups or also for only two people. The Coloured Canyon and the White Canyon (a similar canyon) can be find near Nuweiba, 1 hour by car from the DiveIN. The Canyon can be only reached by a cross-country vehicle - which is a MUST for each individual traveller. The Coloured Canyon is also called the rainbow-canyon. The best time for sightseeing is in the afternoon. Approximately 2 hours before sunset, we will climb into the canyon - only at this time because of the low sun position, we can see the variety of the colors perfectly. The Canyon is a world of its own - we walk on pathways, which are only as wide as our shoulders - along bizarre stone formations - the ground consists partly of fine sand - a really inimitable adventure. On demand, we can also offer this visit as a safari with over night stay beneath the starry sky. Here you can still see the milky way. However wood for a nice campfire, must be brought by us. Because something flammable can be searched in the desert unavailingly. |
