The biggest of the three pyramids of Gizeh (near Cairo) is more than 137 m high and is made of approximately three millons bricks. It is possible to go in the pyramid, if you cross some tunnels and steps. Alongside is the majestic Sphinx. There you can rent a hours or camels. |

The pyramids of Gizeh were built between 2700 and 2560 years before Chr. They were used as a cross-over from the rank land into the desert, the cross-over from the alive people to the death. They were used as graves for mummified pharaonics, who were brought into their vault with a procession. The old egypt belief told the families to fill the graves with jewellry, gold and everything, what the dead person needs after life. Otherwise revenge threats. |

In Sakkara (near Cairo) can be find the step pyramid of King Djoser, which is older than the pyramids of Gizeh. Cheops, Chephren und Mykerinos, are more highlights of the Egypt building art. The Cheops pyramid, with it´s 137 m hight and 227 m width, is made of 2,5 millons of bricks. It is really masterwork! |
